Okay, here's the deal. Micake has been an adult for nearly 2 weeks now (2 weeks is Tuesday), and has been getting very plump. So I put her and the males on top of the net cage and when a male mounts her she gives the threat display and tries to grab the male. If she's receptive enough to be producing pheromones which is why the male mounts her, why does she freak out when he mounts her? I've only had this issue 1 other time and it was with chinese mantids. I didn't think Creobroter were this hard to breed. And I told Micake, if she doesn't want to mate, I don't want to see a single infertile egg case in that cage.

Yeah but this one doesn't.

Just wait a week or 2 and then try it again. No reason to rush.

Not all mantids (even if they are the same species) are the same you know ;)

+1 to all this, there not going to die anytime soon, and if she isnt ready she isnt ready lol, ive had S. limbatas be ready in 1 week and another didnt want to until 1 month into adulthood, it just happens, it happens like that for all species.

They are not that hard to breed you need to look at their surroundings and make sure there is nothing to prevent them from mating and take out all obstacles either moving or not out of their space so that they got the most space to mate in!

Kind of like my egyptians as like not even a week as a adult I got them to both breed but separate females though and different time frames but still some mate quicker then others as it is all in how you present the situation to the mantis!

They don't really move around too much, its not like humans :p .

only move if you try to move them or maybe hold them is when they do the 100 meter dash!
