I don't have any mantids, but i'm very interested in these fascinating creatures.

 Welcome! You will find yourself tempted into getting a mantis (or two) (or three) when you are around all the people on MantidForum! You should definitely get a mantis. I would suggest Tenodera sinensis (Chinese mantis) because they are well established in the USA. They were my first ones, and they are very good beginner species. Good luck!
