I'm a long-time frogger, herp hobbyist and carnivorous plant grower. After getting burned out on the dart frog hobby I have been looking for something new so my friend Mike (Bug Trader) decided it was time to hook me on mantids and sent a box of ghosts my way. I can already see more in my future...

Welcome to the forum! I am good friends with Michael, so you and I are friends as well... ;) I'm also an avid carnivorous plant guy as well...

How do you differentiate between the two? I was under the impression that Europeans were quite a bit smaller than Chinese, and that girl was a monster.

Its funny how we joined this forum on the same day so long ago and never posted.

Everyone here should know Tony is the one who opened my eyes up to the world of custom vivariums, screen cage and vert kits and made some of my latest projects possible.

welcome to the hobby officially.

Chinese mantids not only have stripes running up and down on their face, but they also have wings where the bottom one is green ad the top may be a different green, or a brown. European mantids also have a dot/polka dot on the inside of their arms.
