HI everyone, i'm completely new to the world of the Mantid, i came upon them because i needed a predator to combat indoor garden pests and then i realised they are much cooler than i first thought and now I've caught the 'bug'). However i have little knowledge about them and am here to learn more.
I have 2 x L1 Egyptian Praying Mantis. They are really small and cute, so i am looking after them as best i can with the little knowledge i have. I have just started feeding them fruit flies that i harvested from the compost bin with my homemade pooter. Not a pretty site, head in the compost sucking flies up. I swallowed the first one, had the pooter the wrong way round, so as you can see i'm a complete newbie and ready for the steep learning curve.

So any help will be appreciated. See you in the forum.

Welcome to the forum! Egyptian pygmies are so cool to watch I have an adult female that I raised from L3. That is really funny about the fruit flies ? I all my three years of mantis keeping, I have never swallowed a fruit fly!
