Hello all!

I am Cassidy and I am from Pennsylvania, USA . I first became interested in mantids when my younger brother caught a Chinese Mantis in our backyard. He put it in his 10 gallon tank and shortly after, it laid an ootheca. It ended up hatching almost 200 little nymphs! It was very exciting. We didn't know what to do, and released them into our back yard. Me and my younger siblings each took one to take care of but unfortunately mine ended up having a bad 3rd molt, and died.

My little siblings also love the hobby. My mom's house is home to about 4 mantids, and I have one chinese mantis living with me. I am soon getting a Ghost mantis and an Orchid mantis nymph.

I generally feed Paprika crickets. I believe she has an upset stomach or something though, as her poop isn't really looking normal. I just learned about gut loading, and that is what I will work on later today after going to the farmers market :)

Here are two pictures of her. The one on my hand, is before she last molted. And the one of her eating is just yesterday.

Thanks! Yeah I'm excited about the ghost. The one I'm buying is already L4 but I didn't want to pass up the opportunity. My brother has one and I love it!

No problem, and with a larger Ghost you won't have to worry about fruit flies, so that is a plus. :D Post some photos when it arrives. ;)

Also, for some reason my I'm unable to change my photo. I upload it, and then I save it, but then it doesn't show up. Anybody have something similar happen to them or know what I should do?

Are you talking about your profile/member photo, i.e, avatar? If so take a look here for instructions.

Wow, thank you so much. I'll try using Photobucket.
Your welcome. When I read you said it wouldn't show after uploading I figured it had to be your profile photo. Seems to be a common problem anymore, although I have no clue why it won't work from a upload directly. Thankfully there is a alternative that works though. ;)

Well, I tried but it keeps saying my photo is too large. Therefore, I resized it about 15 times haha. I'll have to try again later. I appreciate the help!
The file size can't be over 200KB, and to do that (and meet the other requirement) resize the photo or region you want to 300x300 square.
