Just a quick intro before i start asking loads of questions!! 
Im a 32 year old father of two from Herne Bay in Kent , UK. I started to take an interest in Mantids recently whilst visiting a local specialist petshop (picking up a Bearded dragon for my son..) I was amazed at how beautifull the Praying Mantis is. Well for christmas the mother in law brought me one! It is beautifull. Im not 100% sure what exact specimen it is but suspect its an African type Mantis. Traditional green slender body with larger abdomen and a small-ish head. Im certainly going to look at getting a few more. I have done a fair bit of research online about Mantis husbandry. But found this forum, so im sure ill be asking a few questions!!
