Hello, new guy here, long time fan of mantids' though. I currently have 2 wild caught females, one L7 Chinese, and an L3 Euro, both free-ranged quite successfully for some time now. I am finally getting to the point where I want something more exotic as far as mantids' go. I also just so happen to be a hobbyist orchid grower, so, naturally I have my eyes set on a female L2/3 Hymenopus Coronatus. Anyways, I hope to learn, share, and grow from this forum, cheers!

PS, I have been scrounging the net looking for an orchid female, if anyone could steer me in the right direction, I would be very grateful, thanks.

That's how I got started: orchid grower that bought orchid mantis, got a trio from mantisplace.com and they turned out to be 2 male and one female.

And ditto on the orchids, both the flowers and mantids. I've recently complained to a few friends about the general nonavailability of Hymenopus Coronatus nymphs, hopefully that'll change at some point soon for us.
