I have been a Mantis enthusiest for 20 years! Since the recent explosion of the trade I have assembled a modest collection of species... So excited to find this forum.

One species I am interested in finding is the:Empusa pennata.

Let me know if anyone has any experience or connection that I might be able to work with to obtain some of these beautiful creatures.

The Conehead mantid is available from time to time, you can post a wanted to buy ad in the classifieds to see if anyone has some for sale. You should also check BugsInCyberspace.com. MantisPets.com, and MantisPlace.com as well for them. Good luck.

Indeed they are not a common species and only are available when someone has breeding stock. I still recommend you make a wanted to buy post for them here in the classifieds - as it is your most likely source.

I would also like to get some Empusa pennata too.... I am hoping they come in soon... I know a couple people breeding or close to breeding now.... So hopefully pretty soon....
