Help! Black growth on my Arizona Mantis abdomen

Dear all,

I need some help. There is this black lumpy stuff growing on the abdomen of my arizona mantis. I don know what it is. I think its a fungal infection. Please take a look at the picture i have taken.

Hard to say what it could be, but if I were to take a guess, I would say she "split open" a little and the guts have come out a bit.

I think it may be pieces of its gut. Thanks for your help guyz! I think i'll let it rest and fast for a few days.

2 thoughts: either your mantid was injured (I don't know how it could be injured in that location because the wings protect it but I guess it's possible) or it's the cause of a parasite that's about to come out. Keep us updated.
