Bloody heck thats a lota ooths, yep definatly a mantid species

Btw (mantidboy)

I can find a ton of those in/around Davis, CA. I collected a few unhatched ones last year but I think I didn't know how to take care of the ooths so they didn't hatch. Anyway, I also started getting concerned that they might not be mantis ooths. If I go out hunting for these again soon, I bet I'd find some fresh ones.

Definitely ooths from a mantid species. They look just like Iris oratoria (Mediterranean mantid) ooths. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were I.O. ooths since Italy is the center of their natural range.

Their ooths look very similar to those of the Gambian Spotted Eye Flower Mantis.

most of them them really DO looked hatched already. Except for the one on the top right.
