I have a adult female Tenodera sinensis that has been mated successfully. It has been about four weeks since she was mated. I noticed a couple of days ago a small amount of discharge coming from her abdomen. I assumed she was getting ready to lay her ooth. That night it looked like she was trying to find a good spot and she fell, she had no apparent injuries that I could see. I kept watch be still she never laid her ooth. The discharge is allot more now and has a greenish tinge to it. I am really not sure what to do. I was thinking of taking her out of the enclosure she is in and putting her in a different one maybe change things up a bit. Does the discharge mean she is sick???? I am a very worried mantis mom......

If anyone could give me an explanation of what I am seeing or suggestions on what I can do. I would appreciate it.

Once my T. sinensis fell and its abdomen was ruptured, and it bled transparent light greenish liquid. Do you see a rupture?

No rupture at all she seemed fine. Last night I got home and took her out but what was odd was, since I am new to mantis I have not handled them much she has been known to have a very bad attitude sometimes. Last night she gave me no struggle and sat in a shallow plastic container on my lap while I gave her some water from a spoon and a bit of honey. I swaped her enclosure with my other mated female and she kept trying to find a spot to lay her ooth. I didn't put any food in with her last night and this morning still no ooth. I think I may put some bb's in with her today maybe she needs some strength she hasn't ate much in a couple of days. She has no more fluid discharge so maybe she is going to be ok. I just looked and it looks like she is still trying to lay her ooth. I hope she is not egg bound.
