One of my smaller L2' males started a fight with a slightly larger female. Well, needless to say she really let him have it. His leg just behind the front arm is partially separated. And i belive she almost wrenched off or seriusly injured one of his arms as well. This particular injured mantis is my youngest nephew's pet from a nymph. He was there when the fight broke out and is devistated. Will he regrow the injured leg and heal the arm or are they not built that way? I feel really bad as my little guy is really attached to him believe it or not.

Any suggestions?

It should heal. They can regrow legs as long as they have enough molts left to do it. It will grow back a little each molt. If it's just an injury then the mantis could be left with a deformed leg. I've seen them with pretty horrific injuries that have healed but they get along ok.

On most species the walking legs regrow perfectly in a molt or two but the front legs are seldom as forgiving.
