I started to make an Acanthops, heads almost done, I'll provide links when done or maybe as the work progresses. The entire collection to date can be seen on Flickr http//flickr.com/photos/geoffhaberman

OOOH I remember you now! I used to look at your mantis figures all the time! You make some really nice ones. I think the first one of yours I found was the Paratoxodera cornicollis. You got some skill! :)

@Hertarem45, They are not for sale, I have given a few of them away as Christmas presents to family, other than that it would be difficult to part with them as I am quite fond of them.

@gripen, I've read that a number of the stick mantises can grow quite long although they haven't much body mass. Some become problematic to make because the heads are so tiny and the legs so spindly they couldn't be made to scale without looking like some poor wire sculpture. My Schizocephalis bicornis is almost 13" long just so I could make the legs thick enough to support the body without splaying too much. From what I've read the one that comes closest to the actual size is my Paratoxodera cornicollis which measures in at about 8.5". So much of the time the literature contradicts itself as to the max size that I don't worry about scale, I only interested in capturing the feeling and spirit of the species in a semi realistic way.

@Idolofreak, I love all my mantises but the Paratoxodera cornicollis is among my favorites.

yeah even a 13 inch bicornis would be very very hard to make.
