I recomend phyllocrania paradoxa "Ghost" as a pretty forgiving beginer species that are gracefull. and facinating to play with

Welcome to the mantis forum.

Do you have any mantids now?

IMO, the spodromantids make the best beginners pets.

They get large, have the classic mantis look, but not long and skinny, they are long

lived, easy to care for, and are generally people friendly.

So, if you are looking to buy your first mantis, I would recommend a lineloa, viridis or blue flash

nymph (buy them as babies so you can watch their life cycle, that's the fun part)
