Hey guys!

My name is Cole and I have been very interested in mantids for a few years! I live in a place called kelowna and we have 3 species of mantid... The European mantis, Chinese mantis and a species of ground mantis. Last year I caught 7 European males in one night, but no females, I have found a special technique that I can share if wanted! I hope to get to know all of you better!

Hello, if you got something special spill it or I come over, haha! welcome!
Hey Rebecca, we were talking over emailing lately, remember?

Ok... Hunt for mantis the same way as moths, go out at midnight- 2am and look at highly populated moth arias and near lights, make sure it not the city but little sub-urb complexes are good (neighborhoods).

Male mantids are attracted to light. Lucky you that you have so many different species in one area! I have stagmomantis limbata in my neighborhood.

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum. I have been looking for mantids in my yard at no availe. Good luck to you.
Try at the middle of the night, try setting up a white bed sheet on the ground and a vertical white bed sheet and post a bright light and see what you find! I did this in Cali and literally had mantids swarming the thing! Sadly I couldn't take them home :'(

Thanks for the warm welcoming :D

Cole
