My name is Heather Warner and I am a new member.  I had had two Asian mantises in the past six months that were wild caught.  One was a female, Raavi, bless her little bug heart, laid me one ooth before she passed.  I am trying desperately to get it to hatch.  I currently have four dead leaf nymphs, L3's.  I feed crickets only and are interested in cricket farming.

I am 33 years of age and happily married with a 14-year-old stepson.  We have a Boxador named Isabelle.  I also have a horse up at my parent's house.  I enjoy reading, writing, watching TV and movies, embroidery, sewing, crafts, the outdoors, Bible study, and horseback riding.  I am also interested in pinning Insects.

I am interested in learning more about Mantises, their care, and more about my particular species.  I really enjoy caring for mantises and wish to make it a lifelong hobby.  These are intelligent, interesting, and awesome creatures that I have the highest of respect and admiration for these creatures and I intend to give each and everyone that I have the utmost care and quality of life for.

Thank you for allowing me to join your forum.  I cannot wait to meet like-minded individuals and learn more about these fascinating Insects!

Good day and God bless.

Hello Heather and welcome to the forum

If you caught some mantises in the wild in your state they were likely Chinese mantises (Tenodera sinensis), as the Asian mantis (Hierodula membranacea) is not a species that can be found in the wild anywhere in the US. :)

Wow, that is a lot of hobbies and interests, hopefully you find some time to relax too. ;)

Oh hey! You're on the mantis keeper page on Facebook aren't you? Nice to see you here too, welcome. Also,  correct me if I'm wrong, I thought you got ghosts not deaf leaf mantids?

Greetings Heather , I just joined as well and have broaden my knowledge and interest immensely.  .......         S
