I seem to have no respect for protocol! I've been on here for a year and I don't think I've done an introduction. Sigh.
I'm a transplant to Los Angeles by way of Michigan. I was the neighborhood "Bug Kid" ("Send Mark over quick - something's crawling on my lilacs!!") - loved bugs as a kid and revived the love as an adult. I now bring them into my office for my staff to enjoy (oh, these poor city kids have no fun at all). Silkmoths, Mantids and now some Phasmids. Never a dull desktop (or available flat space).
I am WAY amateur on the photography front, but have a nice camera to try and compensate (thanks for the lens suggestions, guys). Huge thanks to Mantisplace.com for providing a gateway between whim and obsession. And of course Yen.
I now have 3 beautiful communities of Ghosts (maybe 30 in each?) and Violins ("Wandering" doesn't even BEGIN to describe it), and hope to do another round of Idols (truly amazing). Might do Orchids again, too. Stunning, even as nymphs. Not sure how many different species I've done now, but I prefer the communal ones (although, there's almost always a local gal that someone has found for me - almost daily "gifts" on my desk). Probably 20 Eurpeans "gifted" this year alone.
So "HOLA!" to y'all! And thanks for the awesome forum!
