Hi, I'm Diana. The first time I saw praying mantises was 25 years ago. My husband, I and our four kids were heading back to San Francisco from LA. Anyway, we saw them at a rest stop. I thought they were so cool the way they turned their heads. My son liked how they perched on his arm. So 3 years ago, I bought an egg sac from a garden center but let them go. This summer two of my eggs sacs hatched and I kept 6 mantises. They are in separate containers. They are about 2 months old.
