This is my first mantis

A very calm and friendly one,a real giant. always sits beside me in the couch at night watching tv haha.

And this one is not as friendly as the other

it's funny you say that. I don't have any spiny flowers YET, but all my mantids that I had in the past seemed friendly to me. even female Lobatas never displayed a threat pose. so to solve this I not only got a group of Idolos, but I should have a group of Wahlburgii in reserve just waiting for me.

I figure if I can't find a mean or spunky Idolo or Spiny flower in my groups, I'm giving up on ever getting a photo of a threat disply.

nice photos by the way, and congrats on getting that spiny flower to full adulthood.
