ok, so i noticed hierodula multispina and sphodromantis lineola look almost identical
so i decided to do comparisons to help out in identifying
meet an L3 sphodromantis lineola
notice the BROWNISH band going ALL the way down the body
notice the unreticulated legs and the small, clear spines on the claws
here's another view of that
now here is an L4 female hierodula multispina
note the bulkier shape, the less smooth contours, the thin, REDDISH band that STOPS at the wingbuds, and the reticulated legs
also note the thicker, darker teeth on the claws (especially the terminal ones) and the red dashes in the side of the abdomen (appears better around L6)
