How long can you keep chinese mantids together in the same cage? How big should it be for ten?

If you want to try and make sure all ten survive, I would not suggest them as a species to house together. Even well fed the little guys can be cannibalistic from newborn nymphs all throughout adulthood.

Only ten? In that case I usually house each on in its own 32 oz deli cup. If it is an entire ooth that has hatched I house them in a net cage or aquarium until about L3 or when I am down to about ten left.

Do you think ten is too small of a number? Not enough to have any left in the end for breeding?

Yes ten should be plenty, if they all live, if you only end up with a male and fe male you will still be fine!
