how big are Acromantis formosana L1 nymphs?

That's about right. To give you an idea, I had a bunch hatch on the 8th of last month. At L2 they are still taking hydei, but I popped in a HF just before I read this and have found that the "alpha it" has just taken it down. I'll keep them on hydei for another week, but start putting in more and more hfs. BTW, this, like a lot of "flower mantids" likes plenty of humidity to prevent mismolts.

I seen my crebroter gemmatus do the same thing at l1 as well and guess it depends on the nymphs if they smaller then usual then prob not going to work!

becky they take D. hydei no problems at 1st instar, they even take prey bigger than themselves (some hydei are bigger), for a small mantis they are extremley tough

I've had to feed L1 house flies before was funny they all ran towards the one that caught it trying to steal it when I first tried had to throw in a bunch more.

It's better to use d.hydei with Acromantis due to how much they just love eating each other...when my first oothecae hatched I was left with around 20 out of 40 that hatched when using d.melongaster

Yeah. That's why I mix hydei with HFs at first. You want the environment to be saturated with food.

BTW, I see that I said the the hatch date was 8th of last month. It was the 18th, so that makes them just over 2 weeks old.
