How do I mate Grasshoppers?

I just caught a bunch from outside, and it's October. Not many are going to be out much longer I assume. So, since I have so many, is it possible to breed them? Keep them?

Maybe some good soft, moist soil for them to lay eggs in. Maybe some grass or wheat for them to eat (maybe they will not eat those two things and if they do not try other things). All of the grasshoppers I had start mating right away when I just put them together.
