I have a H. Grandis Male that recently molted to adult and I'd love to see it fly. Have any of you got any good methods to make them fly?

pick him up..put him on your hand and normally it just flys off.mine do any way..its a right pain when im trying to take pictures on them..

It won't fly for some reason. I have prodded and blown on it but it just walks away. Maybe it is because it has only been adult for 2 days... <_<

If he just molted two days ago you shouldn't even be handling him. In my opinion I don't think it is good to handle mantids often and especially not right after they just molted.

Well my method has always been to lure my mantises into flying to me. Normally when I want some flight time I place them up on something of decent hight. I have them placed so they are toward the edge. Next, I lean in so they get a good look at my face. Once they actively start to reach in my direction I back up a bit and sway. That with calling there name never fails to get my mantises flittering over to me. :p
