Just realized I don't think I have ever actually heard the word spoken. I just always say ooth. I have to give a speech soon and want to make sure I have it correct.

I always say the full word like: oo tha ca

But google says it is : oo thee ca with a long e

??

Yeah that's what I found too. I still think it sounds odd.

I believe the accent is on the middle syllable. Personally I use ooth for the singular and oothecae for the plural. I guess that is incorrect.
