I have an ooth and it's my first one, I would like to know how badly it needs misting? It's a Chinese ooth. I try to mist every other day, but I did leave and was gone for a week, so unless my room-mate remembered to mist, it could have been without for a week. Is misting essential for an ooth to hatch? And do you spray directly onto the ooth? I usually do.

so this is interesting because someone said the eggs in an ooth cant absorb water from the air so it seems they dont need misting

but water can diffuse out of eggs

diffusion is the movement of water from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration, so if the air has moisture in it, the eggs wont absorb it BUT the moisture in the eggs wont diffuse out into the air if there already is moisture in the air, and that's why we mist ooths

Ohhh, I wondered about that. I did not know the diffusion part. It makes sense now....

confusing, but i think i get it. you're saying don't mist directly but around them and diffusion will handle the rest
