Ok other then the obvious size diffrence what other signs are there that show it is male.

Aswell, do males get wings when they are adult?

If not how do you know they are mature?

Females have 6 lines under their abdomen, males eight. They both get wings. They are mature when they have full wings, not just wing buds. You can find more in the search feature.

Thanks Asa, Using the search I couldnt find anything about male orchids having wings.

If you're talking about adult orchids the females are like triple the size of the male. Course telling gender on adults on almost all mantids is simple and most people can tell at a glance without having to count segments. Counting segments is for telling gender of nymphs.

He said other than obvious size differences.

When males get wings, they fly surprisingly well. As a nymph, their abdomen will be skinnier... it's easier to tell when they're not something like L2 or L3.
