There are a *lot* of mantids in Ecuador, check out the number of listings for "Ecuador" here: http://insects.tamu.edu/research/collection/hallan/Arthropoda/Insects/Mantodea/Family/Mantidae.txt

Here are steps on how to seach for text in your Windows-based browser, for those that are unaware and curious:

While you're viewing the page, press CTRL+F (the CTRL key and the F key at the same time). You should now see a search box. Type whatever you want to look for (e.g. Ecuador) and press Enter. You should see a result if it exists on the page! Press the "Next" button again and you'll find the next instance.

 
Hi.

I hope you were not told that the nymphs belong to the first species! They do not! While the first species belongs to Thesprotiella (recognizable by the process on the vertex and the shape of the foreleg), the second species one is some other member of the Thespidae, maybe Musonia, Eumusonia or similar.
