HEllo All,

Yen, great news!!! Congrats on the little devils.

You should have no problem raising them, in fact you can keep the together until L3 or older, feeding every day.

My first 2 L3 WC (2005?)from Tanzania, were keep in separated container, with peatmoss as substrate, a small branch inside a 32 oz cup with mesh lid.

I keep them at about 80 during the day and 70-75 during the night.

I would spray every night only, very lightly.

Big appetites, not too fond of crickets, since they are very clumpsy, they don't go down to hunt too much. They love house flies and moths or a cricket if you hand feed them.

My second attemp in 2006, was from a WC ooth that came from Stephan grobe, it hatched about 100 nymphs, I was able to raise some and gave away the rest to other people.

Unfortunatelly I could not kept them going.

So I know Yen will be the man to keep I diabolicum going for some time.

regards

Ftorres

these two were males so I could not get anything from them.

Hi.

Please do not understand me wrong, but as you did not effectively breed this species, the caresheet you offered is of rather low value. In fact, it's a caresheet telling how to not do it. Sorry. Ever asked why you were not successful with a start of over 70 first instars (we never had ooths with 100 hatchlings, there should be 70-80 at max.)? That is by far more than other people needed to start with a species.

I think people should follow the advices of those who have a functioning breeding stock. There are already several breeding advices in two or three other threads. Most are by Jürgen and myself, and that's already about 50% of all breeders of this species.

I apologize for this correction, but I have seen too many specimens of this species being cared for to death despite several advices given.

Best wishes,

Christian

Hi, Christian,

I am sure there are many people waiting for your next episode. Would you please just reveal more of your secret or put them in a more organized fashion, such as a caresheet in general.

All the best,

Luke from Taiwan

There exists a two-part caresheet. It was published in a German hobbyist journal. In order to publish something in English, it would be good to know an adequate journal. I was not able to find something yet, also I have asked several times. By the way, there are enough threads here containing the most important information. Despite the (correct!) stuff written in the posts, I will not post any article-like caresheet in any forum or homepage. I use journals, for various reasons.

If someone understands German he/she should PM me.

Regards,

Christian

Sorry to say, there are no entomological/scientific journals here that would publish information on captive care for hobbiests. Have you thought of sharing your information with the hobby via "Invertebrates Magazine"? Send Orin a PM for information.

Scientific journals do not publish stuff like this. There should be a hobbyist one like the one you mentioned. I need some information on it first.
