I was feeding my mantis a carpenter bee (it was rather small) but when she caught it, the bee grabbed the tip of her foreleg and she great difficulty getting it off, to the point where I had to intervene. I mangaged to get it off and I'm looking at where it bit and it looks a little swollen. Do you think she's going to be ok?

The toxins that are delivered in a bee sting are intended for most of its prey and some of the other insect world that receive a sting are not as affected as a person, or another creature. Notice how certain bear species can raid a bee hive, get stung myriads of times and walk away with a smile and a stomach full of the good stuff found in a hive, not limited to the honey. Your mantis will be fine. Bee careful!

Thank you!

well I dont think mantis nymphs like bees as I have seen them carry off nymphs before and some chew them from where they try to hide!

I should have snagged a few bees before the bee man vacuumed them away. :(
