Trying to breed my H. Majusculas tonight. He is on her I hope they connect.

He's a little bigger than her. That crazy! They have been sitting like this for a half hour. Any suggestions?

Looks like the female is bigger (Look at the head). You must mean longer when you include the wings? Good luck with them breeding.

He isn't properly mounted.....he won't connect. He is more on her for a trip, not "a ride" ;) ...take him off and try again the following night...raise temp and humidity a little...

Age of adulthood for each???

Sorry Andrew I ran out of likes, but he's speaking the truth, heat+humidity can help a great deal!

He is about 2 weeks old. She is bout 4 weeks. Heat is 81. Humidity is a little low at 45% in my apartment. They didn't connect. He just walked all over her. What a womanizer.

He's just being silly. At least he doesn't look like he's saying " Look what I can do!" I had one like that.

From what I have heard the female should be 5+ weeks and the male should be around 3.5-4 weeks old before attempting to mate them. Females get very aggressive if they are under 5 weeks. This is just from what people have told me though

I thought the males were ready after a couple of weeks and the females also. I'll separate them in different rooms for a while and try again

Not the same species, but I found Hierodula multispina males to take quite a while to be ready. It has been frustrating.

They either ignore, damage the female, or get too frightened to mate. I have only ever had things go smoothly with one male, my first one, quite a while ago.
