I have some L-2s and they are real chow hounds. I am glad that I just cultured some mels because these little guys gobble them up and want more constantly. One molted to L-3 and today I am going to try giving it the larger wild gnats that I have been catching. They are larger than Hydeis and fly. In a small portion cup, they should be an easy catch even though they fly.

Alex: I would give mine houseflies if I could find in the wild the right size. I experimented yesterday with one L-2 and it was not interested in the hf size and smaller that I placed in with it. I suppose if the nymphs get the idea that they are not going to see any more ffs than they might resort to taking something a little more in the hf size range I will continue to see what I can catch. So far 90 % of what I get is GB and an occasional Sarcophagidae family of fly with the weird looking tail pipe.
