Hi,
so basically roughly three months ago i bought an Indian Jewelled flower mantis (i believe she is female as i can count about 6 segments on it's rear, may be wrong as im no expert). The past week i have been travelling a lot (by car) and have been taking my mantis with me, the trouble is i have not been able to feed it for nearly a week
Before anyone says im cruel or i should release it into the wild - i live in England, where HUMANS could die if they were left out in the cold in some of our cold days, so no way i can release it. today i managed to finally find somewhere to get some food, and bought a box of crickets (not micro as they did not have any) most of them are too big, however there are some small worm/grub things which came with the crickets which are about 1/4 its size. However my mantis appears VERY weak, last night it was moving as normal but today it has been incredibly sluggish, often times lying almost flat on the bottom of the enclosure,
and it does not appear to have any interest in feeding my current theories are that a) it may have somehow been disturbed while shedding, or b ) it has received too much stress from frequent movement of the cage and also with me stressing out trying to feed it.
Any help would be much appreciated
