I know its late but I couldn't wait to share this with my fellow mantis keepers. My Idolo molted the other day and I took her out for a minute. When I had her in the kitchen she gave me a threat display out of nowhere. It's the first time I've experienced this, so I had to see if she would do it again with a little pursuasion. She attacked my finger.

WOW! Full of high spirited, isn't she?

From what I can see in the video she is a he? A close up of the head would tell me for sure. If you don't hold them much they do the pose more frequently, and males more so as their less brave, females don't scare as easily as a rule, it's all about fear and you could stress him out if you do it to much. ;)

i hope when i get an idolo it isnt like that :(

i'm hoping to buy individual bleph containers so an idolo can fit under the lamp next week, then when i get them i'll pay shipping for the idolo so i can get it and love it and keep it and blah blah :) :) :) :)

Yea, Hibiscuy is not happy u r teasing it, I call it MANTIS BULLYING AND i'M TELLING! :gun_bandana:
I figure I got it on film so I don't have to stress it out anymore; I can just watch it. I tried to infuriate my Budwing also, but she pays no attention to me, so I gave up with her. She is just so sweet.

I don't know what it is about it, but I hate your finger too! Keep that thing away from me!

Nice video! Just don't do this too often and make sure you give your Idolos a day to rest after a molt. They are fragile right after, easily damaged.
