After a long struggle, my male has finally lost his battle. he died missing all of his feet and unable to walk. It was really sad to see him go :( He is still kind of alive, moving ever so slightly. :( He's in a better place now  :(

Sorry to hear that, but 54 days isn't too bad for a male Idolo, they don't last as long as some other male species, some a month and at best 3 months. :(

Wish I had a male for you but I'm between groups right now...

Is that normal? How long does it take for them to be sexually mature after the last molt?
I read that they usually live for up to 60 days after molting to adult. But you really never know how long they will live until they die. I think it takes a couple of weeks before sexually mature.

i have a male who has a female friend one molt behind (by the time she becomes adult i think he would be in his elder years :wheelchair: ) ....he has been adult for ~3weeks, you interested? (pm me)...... this male is also being recruited by Alex (agentA) to mate with his female when she is of age (and then i would get him back)... this is one lucky guy :tt1:

I'm so sorry to hear that. Sadly I'm currently in the same boat with you today, as I just lost my little idolo nymph after a bad molt. She had been twitching and moving a little and I hoped some water and hand feeding would help her but today, seeing her condition worsening (she was very brown compared to her former color and also had her mouth open at all times and a missing leg), I decided to give her a hopefully painless death (if they feel pain). I put her in the freezer and cried my eyes out. I'm so sorry for your loss and it sounds like you have him a full life. Hope you find another for your female. <3
