Idolo throwing food away?

I have a sub adult idolo male that displays weird behavior. When he grabs the bluebottles I feed him he takes a quick nibble before tossing the fly away alive. Seems like he doesn't get a bite. I'm lucky if he eats half a fly before tossing it. He's still very skinny and he isn't due for a molt for another couple weeks. All my other idolos will take flies by the handful. Any ideas? Thanks
