would it help if i misted her? i took a break from misting after she molted to L6

i dont want her to starve? :(

thanx

I fed honey direct to a few adults last week, that did'nt look like they were eating.. And they were back to bees this weekend and mating.

Try hand feeder for a few days. I have an idolo that had trouble catching insects because of a messed up claw. I noticed it was getting skinny so I handed it a crick and the idolo grabbed it right away and started munching. Now I just hand her a fly or other insect whenever its feeding time. He grabs it right away.

Yes, you should still mist her everyday to drink, you just don't have to soak the whole enclosure is all till the next molt, she's used to drinking everyday with flies that are juicy from eating honey as well like all the mantis over here, what are your day temps?

For instance, all her siblings eat 1-2 BB's every day with out fail and the temps are 85-88...

When I my female molted to adult she didn't eat for several days. I finally laid 1/3 of a banana on the branch next to her, but first I somewhat pulverized it by poking holes all through it. This not only got the juices flowing, but made it easy to eat. I'm still not sure if she ate any of the banana, but it attracted the flies, which in turn made for some easy pickins and maybe more importantly, soft raptor grabs. When I checked in later that day, she was eating flies like a pro.

My idolo is not eating much either. It's not even eating. I think it's going to molt :)

I had one of mine not eat for maybe 10 days and she was extremely skinny, I ended up feeding her honey on the end of a tooth pick twice a day and if she wouldn't eat it from the tooth pick I rubbed honey over the end of her raptorial arms. This forced her to lick it off them, along with misting her directly forcing her to drink water. After three days of this she was no longer dragging her body along the ground and was moving normally again. So I cut a cockroach in half and pressed the gooey insides up to her mandibles and she started eating it and took it from my forceps. She has eaten every day since then and is now looking very fat.

Give it a try, if it doesn't co-operate just smear honey over the front arms and make it wet. Force it to eat & drink :p

+1 good answer, I can almost here the Aborigine noise from those stick's that make that one of a kind sound that I can't type , lol.

I never knew that Idolos can be so fragile.

I hope she pulls through! :(

Can't remember the name of the sticks but the "dance or festival or ritual" is called a corroboree.
