 ok...i know this might be a waste of time, but what kind of mantid is this...? can you give me basic info, like: good for noobs, size, habitat type, canniballistic, etc...thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the oothecae? Nick sells both Chinese and European egg cases. I currently am incubating a European egg case I bought from him. I have not had any problems with the Chinese. 1 egg case gives you 100+ nymphs so you will have plenty to work with. Some people have had trouble with both the Chinese and European mantids. This is my first time with the Europeans, so I have nothing to say on them yet.

Chinese mantis- Tenodera aridifolia siniensis

European mantis-Mantis religiosa

Both species are cannibalistic. So you will need to seperate the nymphs after the first molt. But you can keep them together until then if you provide room and LOTS of fruitflies.

Habitate- Both species should do well in the jars I described in your other thread. I would suggest a lite misting everyday. Just mist through the cheese cloth.

Size- The adult female Chinese can reach 4+inches in length with the male being slightly shorter. The European will be about 2-3 inches long. The male being at the shorter end of the range. But size is variable for both species.

i always wanted you to grow up to be mendica doctor lol
