Seems it does pretty good, but the huge female field crickets can't be vacuumed up with it (not enough power). Indeed escaped feeders would be a good use for it, and so would modifying it to act as a fruit fly pooter (like my <a href="https://mantidforum.net/index.php?showtopic=34847" target="_blank">manual one</a>). May have to get one myself, sure would beat using a fly swatter, and I got still use them as feeders. <img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite8" alt=":D" title="Big grin :D" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":D" /></p></blockquote><p></p>
Many thanks. I figure if I am doing something related to my mantids I'll share it in case it helps someone else. ;) The vacuum though does a excellent job and has become one of those items I'm not sure how I did without it (much like my fly traps to gather GB and BB flies). Thanks for letting me know, I did see it once before where some others actually mentioned the same one your grandson has. Seems it does pretty good, but the huge female field crickets can't be vacuumed up with it (not enough power). Indeed escaped feeders would be a good use for it, and so would modifying it to act as a fruit fly pooter (like my manual one). May have to get one myself, sure would beat using a fly swatter, and I got still use them as feeders. :D
