just got interested in mantis. what sparked my interest was using them as feeders for my chameleons )!!!! after looking for info on mantis i discovered the glory boys of mantis(orchid and ghost) and got hooked. now i cant wait to get my hands on some of these creatures for pets. i completely scraped the idea of using them as feeders. ghosts are my fav and i love the crypts. now i am just trying to find a breeder in socal so i can start working on my collection. lots to learn but ive been reading like a mad man

happy to have you here. I too am glad you've scrapped the idea of mantids as feeders. Totally apart from any preferential feelings I have for them, they just don't make good financial sense as a feeder insect compared to more traditional choices. Best of luck to you in your new hobby! And remember... you don't necessarily need to find mantis breeders in your local area to acquire them. Check the classifieds forum ads here. Checking on potential sellers in the Breeder Feedback forum is also a smart idea.
