I have a adult male lineola in a net cube right next to a female which has aleady

laid 3 infertile ooth's.

The male only shed a week ago, so he has not been an adult very long.

I was wondering how long will it take him to be receptive and take notice of the female

for mating?!

They are now right next to each other with the net in between them, but they are taking

no notice of each other yet.

he should be ready, try it, all u can lose is his head!
LOL!! she has already eaten one of my males.

It was crazy! she had just been fed an adult roach.

I put him in her net cube, on the far side of her. She practicly flew over to him and attacked!!

I dont know if he deposited sperm, but he was mating with her till the end. Even after his head, and

half his thorax had been eaten away, he was still at it.

So, I dont know what to expect from her next ooth.

So she should be mated again soon.

I am going to introduce them outside the cage and out in open space.

At least the male will have a chance to fly away!! LOL!!

I'm surprised he was just 7 days mature and mated. Females can be mated while teneral but for males it's usually a few weeks. If you saw them mating it is extremely unlikely the oothecae would be infertile.

Oh, sorry, my post was not clear.

The male who got eaten was much older, I was referring to the one I have now.

I just had a male molt to adult a few weeks after she ate the first male.

Then, after he molted to adult, another one did the same, so now I have 2 adult

males. Only one of them has been an adult a little longer.

Plus, I have (from memory) at least one other subadult male who should also molt

any time now.

So I will soon have 3 adult males.

I only have one adult female lineola.

I would give the male at least two weeks before trying to mate them. Some my be ready in a weeks time, but why risk it? The older the male is the more sexually responsive he will become. Also during this time you should feed the male well. A few days after males molt to adulthood they will still eat like mad to bulid up the love juices.
