I thought she was ready to molt but idk. I'm new to mantises so I'm new to this stuff. She hasn't been eating. Like she looks like she's about to attack but doesn't. And she's been sitting in the same spot upside down for a while and today she decided to move and is sitting in this position. What is she doing?

sorry my picture didnt upload.

She is subadult, or one molt from adult. When she's ready to molt to adult her wingbuds (little saddle-like things on her back) will swell up and appear lifted. When that happens, you know she's under a week from her final transformation.

This is the same thing mine did and she mismolted, you better get her to the top of the cage.

And be sure you mist daily ! Keep the humidity up a bit until she's molted. Orin is so right in another post (and he's the expert). So many mismolts are caused by the environment being too dry.
