I posted this picture on my Facebook page (Exotic Insects) and someone suggested it was Majangella moultoni. Given how rare that is I checked out some photos on the web. The colouring is wrong - mine is a mucky olive grey, not the lovely bright mossy green in other photos. But, the shape is right, the marking are right. It was about 2.5" long + -. So .... is it?

I have had two specimens from the Cameron Highlands this year.

If it isn't what is it?

it sure looks like it. could be a coor variation as some species have. has the same eyes and looks. maybe you can get a ooth and rear a few to prove what species it is.

Indeed you have found it! :D    nice find man! Based on these Project Noah photos...I'd say you have it, just a different color variation like jrh afore mentioned...like with Gonatista grisea I get the turquiose colors or brown or dark green or some pretty cool variations...all based on what their background/surrounding was when they were growing up...

Sweet news man! ;)

All the best with finding him a mate!

Beautiful, you photos are great, wish you the best with the moss mantis. Please keep us posted

It is Majangella indeed, more likely M. carli as moultoni has not yet been seen in West Malaysia and carli has the same colouration as on the picture. If you post a photo of the head process I'll tell for sure.
