lol one say male and one say too small to tell. well i try to get a shot of the rear in focus. guess i'll wait till next week and see what happen. and thanks for clarifying instar.

Well, you do not need better pictures, but older nymphs.

What you can see on the picture is definitively LOOKING LIKE a male for 100%, but all very young nymphs look like males ;-) If you have nymphs the same age with an already developed genital plate, than you can say the picture is showing a male. But if all nymphs are looking like the one on the picture without a developed genital plate, is doesn't say all are males. Some will look like females some moltings later.

Can you post pictures like the picture number 2 (abdomen) of all your mantids so we can maybe compare them?
