OK, I'm attempting to hatch an ooth from a popa spurca. This is my second hatching attempt (first was a sinensis ooth). As of now, I have it in a 32 oz. deli with climbing surfaces and good ventilation. I mist it every other day, and I have it on a heat mat which keeps it warmer than the outside air (temp unknown). I have it on day/night schedules. Is this sufficient? Should I up the humidity with a heat lamp?

agent A- How long should it be til it hatches?

it was laid the monday before i sent it to u i've never incubated popa ooths but they take 30-50 days to hatch i think but not sure

75-80 degrees and 50-60% humidity works fine for the species ;)

I've found that popa ooths do ok at a reasonably normal room temperature without any extra heat. All of mine hatched a good number as well :)

OK. I have my mom now buying a humidity meter (if that's what it's called) and a thermometer. My more precise setup will be posted once I have that ability.

A heat mat and a lamp would be overkill. I would think a 32 oz cup sitting on a heat mat would be too hot. Have you checked the temps? You generally don't need elaborate conditions for most ooths.

The heat lamp BARELY gives off much heat. The humidity seems consistent at 60-70% and with temperatures at 80 degrees fahrenheit, 20 degrees celsius. As for the lamp, well, it is because my room is at the shadiest corner of the house, and it is only to ensure that they get daylight. It produces no heat, whatsoever.
