I was at the video game store to see what wii dancing games they had for my kids when I noticed a title called Escape from Bug Island for $4.99. It had giant mantids to fight so I pretty much had to buy it. Most video games bore me within minutes but this one has 3 dimensional movement and multiple attack methods with both second and first person viewing/fighting. You run through the woods with a flashlight (at least the first few boards) so any bug guys with any interest in video games ought to have fun with this one.

Lol having never heard of it I had to look it up... lawls if I happen to see one as cheap as you got yours I would probably pick it up though just cause there are mantises.

On another note I still want them to make a game like Nintendo Dogs only with mantises. That would be so beyond cute.

Jeez, HC, Orin! This 1 was creamed by evry1 when it came out about 4 yrs ago, lol! Like it looks like GS one! Still, killing bugs that can kill you back snot all bad. I dh a wii, but one of my GDs, Amanda, i think, has 1, so I'll sneak it 2 her from the Azone when the rents aren't lookin'. maybe yr kids wil let U play ft2t! U go pops!

Haha, I'd buy it! Sounds like a fun game to me! And even if it isn't, you still only spend $5 on it. I'll go to Gamestop and look for it. It's for the Wii, right?

Yes, it's for the Wii. It has terrible reviews but it's a really neat game to control. I can think of many ways it could be better but it's neater than the last thirty demos I've seen. You have 360 movement/view when you fight and can switch between first person kicking or hitting, throwing rocks, or second person slashing (you can see through your character's eyes or watch your character in action). You also have items, maps, notes, and equipment like final fatasy. Praying mantids ooze out of gigantic oothecae hanging in the trees.

Mantids oozing out of giant ooths? I definitely need to check this game out now!

And I am seconding the idea that they should make a Nintendog game with mantids instead

Thanks for the reminder, JoraM, I'm tutoring Amanda on the Greek Civil War (LOL!) and I must ask her (tell her?) tomorrow*, if she wants to kill giant mantids. She's 15, so probably, she will. When she does well in school (or even if she doesn't) grandpa gets her prezzies! *Oops, today!

The copy I bought didn't have a cover so I'm considering driving to a store 45 minutes away to buy one to get the cover. The cover is a giant mantis after all.

Mantids oozing out of giant ooths?
Yep, and you have to destroy the ootheca by throwing rocks at it or the mantids keep coming and coming and coming. The mantis ootheca is the boss on the first and "last" board.

She's 15, so probably, she will.
It's a mild game but it's rated 17+ because the mantids and your character squirt out blood when attacked.
