I figured I should start a thread for my mantis collection, as it grows throughout the next year. Sorry for the really bad pictures, they were all taken on a Iphone camera.
I first got into mantids after MantisMatt14 had some Decimiana bolivari hatch. He offered to sell me a couple, and that was the start of my research of this amazing group of insects.
November 2015:
11-12-15
I bought 2 D. bolivari from Matt and I received 4 D. bolivari nymphs and 2 orchid mantis nymphs (one had sadly fallen while molting during shipping)
December 2015:
The orchid molted to 3rd instar on 12-1-15 and the largest D. bolivari molted to 2nd or 3rd on 12-7 (not sure about their exact molt)
Orchids first non fruit fly prey item, a small moth I caught

I found a wild Stagmomantis californica ooth while harvesting oak leaves for some poly moth larva.
12-25-15
It was a nice sight to have seen the orchid molting to l4 and the largest D. bolivari molted to either l3 or l4. Both are male.

My dad bought me some amazing Gongylus gongylodes for my birthday from PlayingMantis. The 5 came with a friend, so I currently have 6.
