Lol :p

My mom was all for it when I first started breeding Dubias. My dad, however, took about a month of convincing.

@MantisGirl13

There are guys around Toronto that breed feeders, collect exotics, make terrariums and vivariums. Usually for Darts.

They sell their stuff to private reptile stores. I haven't found stores with dubias but there are several listings on Kijiji (an online Canadian classifieds service) for dubias.

I'd like to breed dubias sometime, if it's not crazy or super stinky.

Is it? My cup of dubias reeks.

That's cool! Breeding Dubias is very easy, and not smelly if you keep the substrate clean.

I wonder if these really are Rhombo nymphs? Anyone ever had R. megaera nymphs before?

EDIT: I FOUND NYMPH PHOTOS ON REDDIT. LOOKS LIKE MINE ARE.

Aggressive for sure. They remind me of Velociraptors from movies. They hang and hunt close to or on the floor of their enclosures.

One takes a pinhead cricket, eats it, then seems to keep guard over the remains. 🤣

Two cricket feedings going now.

I also provide 10 or so hydei at a time.

I think observed behaviours make them my favs right now. I think they'll be WICKED after a molt or two!

And, I can't wait to see my other golden after this molt. Word on the street is they're also savage hunters!
I am sure they are savage hunters! I can't wait to see them after a few molts!

From the other thread.

3 little mantids I fed with dubia goo😁
@Little Mantis, I tried this tonight with my rhombos.

They ate that up lickety-split! (Are you familiar with this English figure of speech?  ;)  Means fassst)

Nom nom nom...

Any tips on the best method for separating the goo from the chitin? Or, do you feed it (to small nymphs), chitin and all? They have such tiny mouths at this instar.

no i am not.

I get the juice out with tooth pick so they can eat it of the pick. It has a big eww level but you get used to it. What s left is an empty roach shell😁

Bleh they ( Ghosts) dont ea't the baby grasshopers (yet) they are smaller than my flies.

I'll try a toothpick. Seems to me you have to scrape it out.

They will, I'm sure.
