Is it safe are lady bugs good for mantids to eat?

You can try anything. If they can't/won't eat it they will drop it. I can't recall if I ever fed them ladybugs or not. I seem to recall they have some sort of secretion that may be distasteful to mantids. If so the mantid will just drop it if they don't like it.
