Hello,

I would like to know how many weeks terflies are surviving.
I've ordered terflies/house flies in a 500ml container sealed with stockings.
Once adults flies appeared, it lasted 2 weeks before they all died.

Is there a way to keep them longer?

Should I put them in a bigger container and add some water and food?

If yes, what is the best kind of food?

Sorry if this questions has been already posted, I am a noob.

Have a nice day!

RG

Not sure what fly you are talking about, but it appears to be fruit flies? If so you need to make a frit fly culture to put them in and about 3/4 weeks they will need to be remade into new culture.

Yes. If you are raising Musca domestica then you need to provide food and water to prolong their life.

Thanks, I will use a larger container and add water and food.

Thanks, as the container was smelling more rotten meat than fruit, I will provide them both and see wheat they are eating. Thanks for the advice.
